Common Information on Herbal Medication, Acupuncture and General Conditions

Herbal Medication

  • After it has been packed, herbal medication may be stored for around two months at room temperature.
  • There will be a significant reduction of effectiveness from the herbal medicine if taken with restricted foods because the herbal medicines will be neutralized. Herbal medicines can also be considered a food. Just like regular food, if you eat too much it will harm your body. Anything taken internally can cause some side effects such as high cholesterol, high triglycerides, diabetes, heart disease, hypertensions, stroke and many more... if taken in large amounts.
  • Remember: If herbal medicine works. it is medicine but if herbal medicine does not work, it is a food.
  • All remedies must by taken with water only.
  • Herbal supplements should be supplied for at least a week to ten days. Herbal treatment is not effective if treated for just one or two days. Treatment for at least a week under doctors supervision must be followed to avoid chronic problems.

Acupuncture

  • How often is Acupuncture required? It depends on duration of treatment, severity of illness and the nature of the complaint
  • Please do not drink any water or touch any water for one hour after patient has acupuncture treatment unless doctor directed. Also, do not over eat or do any heavy physical activities within two hours period of time after you have received acupuncture treatment.
  • Acupuncture treatment may require just a single treatment or several treatments over a period of time. Acupuncture must be avoided when the patient is excessively tired, hungry, emotionally upset or shortly after intercourse.
  • Acupuncture is not recommended during pregnancy because treatment is not designed to increase the flow of ki. It helps ki flow along the meridians. Increase the ki with herbal treatment which helps to improve ki in the body. Herbs are not designed to help with ki flow along the meridians. It may be beneficial to take herbal medication during pregnancy for problems such as flu, morning sickness, bleeding or anemia (dizziness).

General Conditions

  • If patient has a contusion, then apply ice pack for the first forty eight hours and switch to a hot pack or bath after this time.
  • Usually, if the ki flows well, then there is no pain. If the ki is congested, then there will be pain.
  • Water intake may contribute to obesity if consumed in excessive amounts. Water has no nutritional value. If excessive amounts of salt are consumed, salt in cell tissue may promote temporary obesity.
  • A stroke may cause paralysis. A problem in the vascular system of the right brain will produce symptoms on the the left side of the body and vice versa.
  • If a person experiences a injuries, specially lumbar injury an ice pack must be applied for the first forty eight hours. A hot pack should be used for the next forty eight hours. However, if there is a heart problem, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, an infectious disease or a problem of the peripheral vessels, then an ice pack must be avoided.
